We’re seeking a Filmmaker Intern to assist our primary videographers in gathering high-quality footage for a variety of projects. This role is ideal for someone looking to build hands-on experience in filming interviews, capturing b-roll, and preparing raw footage for post-production. You’ll gain exposure to the end-to-end video production process and work closely with our editing team to deliver impactful visual content.
On-Site Filming Assistance: Help set up cameras, lighting, and audio equipment for interviews and b-roll shoots. Work alongside our main filmers to capture footage of client interviews, on-location events, and behind-the-scenes material.
Content Collection: Record high-quality b-roll that enhances storytelling for social ads and business videos. Gather additional footage as requested to support brand narratives and marketing campaigns.
Clip Preparation: Review raw footage for clarity and quality, organizing files for the editing team. Make basic trims or cuts when necessary to streamline the post-production process.
Collaboration & Coordination: Coordinate with project managers and editors to understand shot requirements and deadlines. Communicate effectively with on-site teams to ensure smooth filming sessions.
Equipment Management: Assist in packing, transporting, and setting up gear safely and efficiently. Perform basic maintenance checks and handle gear with care to ensure longevity.
Educational Background: Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a program in Film, Media Production, Communications, or a related field. Or similar self-taught experience.
Basic Filmmaking Skills: Familiarity with camera operation (DSLR or mirrorless), audio equipment, and lighting setups.
Technical Knowledge: Some experience with editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
Strong Work Ethic: Willingness to learn, take direction, and adapt in fast-paced shooting environments.
Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with the ability to manage footage and keep track of multiple projects.
Reliable Transportation: Ability to travel to various shoot locations if required (depending on region).
Communication: Clear and professional interpersonal skills; comfortable working in a team setting.
Basic knowledge of on-set production roles and responsibilities.
Experience with gimbals, drones, or other specialized filming equipment.
Basic knowledge of color correction and audio syncing for quick post-production handoffs.
Hands-On Experience: Work alongside experienced videographers and gain exposure to real-world filming projects.
Mentorship: Receive guidance from industry professionals, with opportunities to learn about project planning and editing workflows.
